The government of Abia State has committed to restore decaying tourist attractions owned by the federal government and convert them into successful businesses.

Martins Justice, the Governor Alex Otti’s Senior Special Assistant on Tourism and Entertainment, claimed that the action was intended to revitalize the state’s economy through tourism.

Speaking on Wednesday in Umuahia, the state capital, Justice said they planned to exploit the 2023 globe Tourism Day’s subject of green investments and tourism to showcase the state’s abundant tourist and cultural potential to the rest of the globe.

He emphasized that given its capacity to advance the green economy and way of life of the state’s citizens, tourism can strengthen the state’s economy.

“The tourism industry is essential to the survival of both small and major enterprises, from neighborhood shops to global hotel networks. Tourism may be a key engine for economic recovery and resilience as we get out from under the burden of the global pandemic and instability, he added.
