The state’s PDP had been severely damaged, according to the APC chairman, who also declared that his party would continue to govern both the state and Nigeria.

The president of the All Progressives Congress, which is in power in Ondo State, Ade Adetimehin, has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party has no chance of winning the state’s governorship in 2024.

Ayo Akinyelure, a former senator from Ondo South, and several other PDP chieftains were welcomed to the ruling party by Adetimehin at the Idanre headquarters of the Idanre Local Government Area of the state.

Akinyelure, who ran for senator from the district on the PDP platform in 2011–2015 and again in 2019–2023, abandoned the organization along with his followers.

“There is no negotiation on the next governorship election,” he declared. Because we have been able to provide our people with the benefits of democracy and because there is no crisis or disagreement inside the APC in Ondo state, we have only grown stronger every day.
