In a horrifying collision involving two fully loaded 18-seater buses, the Federal Road Safety Corps, Imo state command, has reported recovering N1,346,250.

The head-on collision that happened on Wednesday along the Ngor-Okpala axis of the Owerri-Aba Expressway resulted in three fatalities and several injuries, according to the FRSC.

This was announced by the unit head for the Ngor-Okpala council area, Angela Fagbemide, in a statement on Thursday. She claimed that one of the bus drivers deviated off his lane and blocked the approach of the other driver who was approaching from the opposite direction, resulting in a high impact head-on accident.

Three people were verified dead at the adjacent hospital where our men had rushed 11 injured, the woman stated. While the relatives of the other patients moved them to hospitals closer to their homes, two additional patients are still receiving care at the hospital.

Seven people were taken by ambulance to the Federal University Teaching Hospital in Owerri, while some  have  been discharged after receiving treatment
She revealed that the FRSC gave the victims’ families back N1,346,250 in cash as well as other priceless personal effects.

In order to prevent accidents, Fagbemide also urged drivers to follow the regulations of the road, and drive safely as the year is about to end and its associated celebrations  comes forward.

Miss Chiamaka Emerenwa, a relative of one of the fatalities, praised the FRSC for mobilizing support for the victims.
