Abba Kabir Yusuf, the acting governor of Kano state, has dismissed Adamu Aliyu Kibiya, his commissioner for land, and a political adviser over claims that they posed a threat to his life.
Regarding the verdict of the governorship election petitions tribunal, the Commissioner for Land was overheard on tape allegedly threatening someone.
In a viral video, Aliyi allegedly declared, “We will kill anybody who dares to tamper with our hard-earned victory at the elections tribunal.”
Many state residents demanded his swift prosecution to act as a deterrent against potential violent crimes after his words aroused shock and censure.
Following a meeting, the State Commissioner for Information, Baba Halilu Dantiye, addressed the media and declared that the government utterly distances itself from these careless comments made about the tribunal’s judges.
Similar remarks were made about Vice President Kashim Shettima by the Special Adviser on Youth and Recreational Activities, Alhaji Yusuf Imam.
The government made it clear that neither of these people had the right to speak on its behalf.
No government official may speak moving forward without seeking permission from the proper authority, according to government decree.
