Olusegun Obasanjo, the former president of Nigeria, asked young people in his country to lead the battle against climate change on Monday.

Underscoring the necessity of a sustainable development-promoting green economy, Obasanjo urged the younger generation to take the lead and strive towards making the world a better place to live.

Additionally, Obasanjo advised the young people to reject the notion that they are leaders of the future since they are leaders of the now. As such, they should make every effort to remove any obstacles that would prevent them from exhibiting their leadership abilities.

Speaking during the Presidential Youth Retreat with the topic “Contributing to Green Economy,” which was hosted at the Youth Development Center inside the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, the former president made this call.
