The payment of a N50,000 medical allowance to National Youth Service Corps volunteers working in state schools has been authorized by Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas.
The administration’s free and mandatory education policy is being supplemented, according to the government, by efforts to hire teachers of the highest caliber.
The statement was made on Sunday by Zainab Usman, state commissioner for information and reorientation.
In a statement, she stated that NYSC volunteers posted to schools will receive a monthly support payment of N10,000 and a term-long housing allowance of N25,000.
The governor also authorised a one-time payment of 50,000 Naira as a medical allowance in response to the emergency in the educational sector, the statement said.
“Automatic job possibilities will be provided to outstanding corps members who stand out while working in schools.
The commissioners of youth and sports and education have worked together to plan how to carry out these programs. For Youth Corps members working in our schools, the Commissioner of Youth and Sports is dedicated to making sure that these new packages are implemented on schedule.
